The Risk of “Gunpowder, Treason, and Plot”

Remember, remember the fifth of November, gunpowder treason and plot.

We see no reason, why gunpowder treason, should ever be forgot!

It’s a beautiful time of year – crisp, bright mornings, frost on the ground and long, dark nights to curl up on the sofa with a mug of hot chocolate. Christmas is only around the corner, and the build-up is already beginning! The start of the festive period often begins with bonfire night and a fireworks display to light up the night sky with impressive displays that often bring a whole community together.

But what has this got to do with the Risk Dashboard? Well, quite a lot actually – and we can use ‘gunpowder’, ‘treason’ and ‘plot’ to illustrate exactly why.

1.   Protect your business from the risk of ‘Gunpowder’.

We all know that Guy Fawkes was caught red-handed with the gunpowder in the cellar of the Houses of Parliament. But how did he gain access in the first place? Well, it’s likely that the physical security of the Houses of Parliament was lacking, hence allowing trespassers such as Guy Fawkes into the building.

You’ll be pleased to know that the Risk Dashboard has a Physical Security module – if only we were an established business in 1605, we could have stepped in and changed the course of history! Simply put, our Physical Security module is designed to protect your assets – including your people, buildings and information. If there are risks, we will help you to identify them and work with you to resolve them. This means the risk of trespassing from a modern-day Guy Fawkes is greatly reduced.

2.   Ensure your business is safe from ‘Treason’.

Did you know that one of the biggest risks to a company is the employees? Thankfully, our Human Resources module will work alongside your HR department to identify any compliance issues or operational risks with your workforce. Once procedures are in place, you can be confident that ‘treason’ will not be a risk factor in your company.

3.   Are you sure no one is ‘Plotting against you?

Our Information Security module allows your business to evaluate what digital information it must protect, and why. As with all of our Risk Dashboard modules, it can integrate into your existing structure and work with you on your cyber security protocols to ensure that sensitive information is protected, meaning a hacker ‘plotting’ against you is an incredibly low risk.

And finally, if an incident does occur at your place of work – perhaps not as dramatic as a gunpowder explosion – are you confident that your health and safety procedures are compliant? Luckily, we have a module for that too!

If you have any questions about working with us to manage and mitigate all aspects of risk to your business, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Neil Campbell, Commercial Director, on neil.campbell@riskdashboard.co.uk or info@riskdashboard.co.uk. We look forward to hearing from you.
