Are You An Introvert or An Extrovert?

We recently watched an incredibly interesting TED talk by Susan Cain, discussing the power of introverts. In today’s world of business, it’s assumed that in order to be successful, you must be confident, outgoing, and sociable. Everyone is expected to be a salesperson. From the moment a candidate enters an interview, they’re expected to be able to sell themselves as being the best possible person for the job. When it comes to networking, it’s assumed you must be able to stand up in front of a room full of strangers and talk confidently about yourself, your business, and your products and services.

Whilst extroverts can, of course, be brilliant business people and tend to be gifted at sales, it’s the introverts that often get overlooked. These unassuming individuals are said to actually make the best type of leaders. They manage their teams without forcing their ideas on them, allowing creativity and individual strengths to flourish. They give themselves time and space to think and to read, and they are brilliant listeners too.

As with hair colour, eye colour and skin colour, everything about a person is on a scale. The same is true with extroverts and introverts. It might be easier to identify some people as more one than the other, but the truth is, we all hold characteristics of both. Diversity within an organisation is everything. Success in a company is governed by the people you employ, and having a careful balance of personality types is something most businesses try to achieve.

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again. The biggest risk to a company is the people within it, and that means when you’re looking at investing in software to mitigate risk, it’s important to choose something that has the ability to adapt to different people’s working styles.

The Risk Dashboard for extroverts

Our extensive reporting gives extroverts the perfect material to develop presentations, and our resources will allow an extrovert to run training sessions across each department.

Risk Dashboard for introverts

Introverts will be able to delegate, monitor, and evaluate progress within their teams, as our modular system means everyone can log in and manage their own time. The library of resources provides brilliant reading material too!

Our Human Resources module

This module will help you to identify the strengths and weaknesses when it comes to managing the people within your company. You’ll be able to look at different components of HR and identify which areas need improvement. This will make your business more sustainable and, in short, more successful. You’ll be able to celebrate both the introverts and the extroverts within your organisation, knowing you’ve invested in a risk management system that complements both personality types.
